How did 'they' become that way ... attracted to concentrations of power over others? I don't think it is learned. I’ve also noticed the continued recommendations for the “elderly” to keep getting the shots, as their mortality rates from covid infection are higher. My thinking is if it is not good for younger adults, it’s not good for the over 65s. I suspect higher mortality in older people is due to comorbidities from poor eating, lack of excercise, obesity, etc. Also possible the fistfuls of meds taken contribute to the mortality rate also.
I don't know how it is with drug advertising in the UK, but here in the US we have a huge problem in that all our major news channels are supported in large part by Big Pharma dollars. In the UK Big Pharma sponsors/funds a lot of universities and medical schools to get their message across and GPs are bribed in all sorts of ways to prescribe their products.
