I can’t distinguish between cowardice as a reason why so many who’ve detected things are badly wrong or simply a failure of imagination (once it’s realised that several policy decisions lead directly to massive, avoidable deaths, the question is surely “what limits if any are they to the killing?”
Perhaps it’s both lack of imagination (about how terrifying it’s going to be) & cowardice about stepping out from the crowd.
