Good advice, thx.

Big Python fan - for some reason, watching the behavior and antics of the current US admin always makes me think of a Monty Python episode.

Not sure why that is.....

Gee, I wonder why? 🧐

I've enjoyed Bagdad Cafe!! Glad you were able to give the director enough leeway that you could as well. Then, on the bigger point: the grumpiness in many people. Yes, And also the lack of attention to creative things, to creativity. It's give me the facts, ma'am, all the facts, and more and more and more facts. In fact (another fact), I've just started a creativity cafe - Zee's Cafe Cafe - for the people in my Truth Tellers Club. Everyone is encouraged to bring in something creative they love. They can perform if they want to. They can also just bring in a favorite poem or song or picture. The first time we meet will be on Friday. I'm very much looking forward to it.

Bravo! I had an in depth NDE at 19 but the part that truly altered my path was re-experiencing 1 event from each year of my life. This life review included feeling and witnessing the effect I had on the person I interacted with and then that persons next interaction and on and on. It was clear that the essence of being human is energy and that the energy we put out in the world has immense consequences. This was all uplifting and positive despite having to own my own mistakes. Because of this I know that those of us telling the truth and lending a hand of support to others will prevail. Thank you for another awesome post.

That's great Dr. Lawrie. I always appreciate your substack. Here's another aspect of what you wrote: Sense of humor and laughter. Agree. However, do you realize the number of widowed elderly women (and let's not leave out men) who live alone, with little money and unable to drive - plus no family members because they all live out of State? There are ways for them to laugh too I know, but as not as easy as you portray here. There is no "my man" anymore. They live in high-rise apartments or in their "home" which they no longer are able to keep up and no money to hire out. The elderly I am speaking of, have a much more difficult time finding the things available that people have stated here. Commission on aging is a great way, but if you can't drive? Then, you pay for them to pick you up. No money? Inflation? Recession? Younger people just don't get it. If our nation survives long enough for our corrupt government to be outside, things can change. In the meantime, make a friend with an elderly person.

I've been thinking a lot about this lately Gloria. Our elders have so much to offer and we put them in retirement flats to live, eat and be alone, bored stiff, and just passing the time with mundane trivia until they die. We and our children need their wisdom, experience and good company as much as they need our love, company and logistical support. It's madness and I'm going to write about this soon!

Please do Dr Lawrie, this is something that I’ve been thinking about a lot because it really bothers me.......I’ve been thinking about volunteering in my community to deliver meals and spend time helping seniors in retirement places. A few years back when our kids were in middle school and high school my daughter and I were enrolled in a mother daughter National Charity League chapter that participated in all kinds of charities in our community and among our favorites were visiting the retirement communities on Sundays to play bingo with all the seniors and also deliver groceries on Saturdays, they were so appreciative and happy to see us💖 lots of lonely grandparents, it brakes my heart thinking about this because I grew up so close to my grandparents that I can’t fathom having had any of my grandparents put away in any kind of retirement place. I also believe this is madness, we all need to be around wiser older generations, our society would benefit so much from that, especially our youth. My grandma on my mother side passed away two years ago, she was 96 yeas young, I miss her dearly❤️🙏🏻

I totally agree and thank you for the reminder. We can all get so caught up in the quagmire of grumpiness these days.

I'm English. We never lose our sense of humour. My favourite part of a film was the kids in England returning to school after Sumner holidays. As they approach Germans bomb the school. The kid looks up to the sky and screams "thank you Hitler".

I enjoyed Bagdad Cafe decades ago, and never forgot it because of the haunting beauty of the theme song, something about "I am calling you." I've never heard that song again in any other context, but would watch the movie again just to have the chance...

Here's what made me laugh today. A political comedy made in 1947 when the Fairness Doctrine was strictly enforced. Entertainment had to be non-partisan. A comedy making fun of politics had to make fun of ALL politicians. Most of the humor is still valid, because ALL politicians are still pointless corrupt idiots.
