Been using cash almost exclusively for three years and I rarely take my phone when going shopping. I don’t want to be tracked, nor do I want anyone knowing what I’m buying!

Same. If I take my phone I turn location settings off...not sure how much good that does.

These graphics/cartoons are great. Let's hope they get widely distributed. Most citizens probably don't understand why this move to ban cash is so terrifying. These will help educate more people.

Most “skeptic” Substack authors and posters have called out most of the “leaders” in our now completely-captured organizations … but I don’t think we’ve done enough to point out the hypocrisy of our allegedly “fearless” plaintiff trial lawyers. I try to rectify this oversight with this piece.

We took almost all our money out of the credit union and just use cash . Been doing that the last few years , and I tell others to do it and why!

Where do you keep such a large amount?

Bravo Dr Lawrie.

We try to use cash and minimise mail order, also find several 'exclusions' seem sensible, economic and eco-friendly. Here are some in no particular order:

use almost no proprietary cleaners around the house - vinegar, lemon, clay, soap (savon de Marseilles) instead, bicarb. (15+ years?);

virtually no shampoo, conditioner and occasional soap (25+ yrs?);

no reflexive over-flushing of toilets & only biodegradable paper;

no regular medication ever;

bicarb & H2O2 for teeth brushing (15+yrs);

eco-detergents for dishwasher and washing machine (15-25+ yrs);

only mow paths in the grass before July and leave considerable areas uncut until October;

as far as possible recycle household and garden waste through composting, pull and drop, crop and drop and an eco-hedge for prunings which are too much for kindling needs;

use rainwater in the garden as much as possible;

no pesticides or herbicides, homemade fertiliser from weeds and water.

All of these are pretty obvious practices, cheap, easy and have proved painless at worst; they do not differ radically from my grandmother's household practices as basically we simply tried ditching some consumerist habits we've been flooded with since the '50s and found that less is often more - plus ca change, plus c'est la même chose!

In particular the garden yields visible improvements in diversity of flora and fauna within a season or two, 'no dig' will save your back too!

More ideas or critiques welcome.

It would be helpful if there were a list of places of business that do not accept cash so that we may either 1) avoid them OR 2) go in, place an order and upon being told that they do not accept cash then walk out. I know that Sweetwater's does not accept cash at some of their cafes. It would be woderful if 10 people came in and each one placed an order and upon being told that cash is not accepted the person walks out! Then they have used their resources to prepare your order and if you don't accept it they will just lose the money. If 10 or 20 people in short succession did that maybe it would stop at least for the food service industry.

Love your clarity and presentation. I have been doing these things and offering cash often leads into interesting conversations, especially in small businesses. More connection. Got to be a good thing...

where i am, some businesses give a discount if using cash.

and cash doesn't include checks or debt cards.

i've had to ask at a couple places, because they never had any signs up and got a discount.

others charge a "convenience fee" the ones that charge a convenience fees usually have signs up.

if you own a business, and your bank charges you for transactions.... consider giving your customers a discount for cash.

i ask for a discount, and if they say no, ask the clerk to talk to their boss that i might not be back buying....

Dear Doctor Tess, I am a great admirer of yours and much appreciate your replying, however, cognizant of your relentless efforts and the drain on your time and energy, please rest assured that I am self-motivating and do not expect any reply unless I specifically ask for one.

All my best wishes, Charles.

Thank you for sharing the Great FreeSet with us!! We have been trying to use "Cash Only" for almost 18months now, & are finding excellent & positive comments from the staff & owners of places we frequent. We have discarded several credit cards, & I am also conscious of the fact we must also "discard" the varying Rewards Cards, as this is another way they can try & watch our movements! I have not yet been knocked back at any place we have carried out transactions with. Sadly, to pay for the likes of "substacks" we have no alternative but to use a credit card. Same with donations online. WE used to issue most donations via our Cheque Account, but the Commonwealth Bank here in Australia will no longer allow us that privilege any more!! We have been with them for over 43yrs. This World Control is dreadful, & even tho' I am somewhat limited now in my physical being [diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma in early 2017. Successful treatments & Autologous Stem Cell T'plant, I relapsed at the 5yr mark last year. Months of treatments & now continuing on Daratumumab which doesn't like me & I don't like it, but seems I have no choice!! Ugggh!] but with God's help, I still try to keep a "fighting spirit" on board. We must push back against this evil thrust upon us by the WEF, WHO, UN, etc!! Cheers, Carla & Joe. QLD, Australia.

Thank-you for sharing. We all need the reminders of how important cash is in our society. I do not want CBDC or digital identification.
