You Tube cancels another good man
How long will we let this nasty corporation punish our heroes and control what we hear?
The megalomaniacs are afraid of storytellers like Richard Vobes. Storytellers who keep us sane and well-informed with honesty, allegory, sarcasm and wit. People like Richard, who actually get through to us more with gentle delivery and humour, rather than shouting about science, facts and figures. Indeed, storytellers are a massive threat to the establishment. So last week, YouTube used their very blunt tool to deal with Richard Vobes; they cancelled him for ‘violating community guidelines’.
Does Richard Vobes, UK’s Bald Explorer, look or sound like someone who would violate community guidelines? To the contrary, Richard is a most reasonable and mild-mannered man, respectful of individual and community rights, knowledgeable, creative, open-minded and funny to boot. He’s the sort of guy everyone in the community wants as their friend.
Taking down some of his interviews and de-platforming him for seven days, Richard was unable to pursue his livelihood for a week. Richard’s started on YouTube as the Bald Explorer, with a walking program showing people the beautiful English countryside. This evolved into The Richard Vobes show. Here he has insightful chats with people from all over the world who have different opinions on prevailing narratives, and he also shares his own perspectives on current events. It’s a gentle, beautiful show, and the idea that Richard Vobes is deemed a threat to us is a sign of these fascist times.
The notion that a corporation such as YouTube can take away someone’s ability to make a living at the drop of a hat for something that they, or a guest, said (but won’t tell them exactly what the ‘violation’ is or invite them to put their perspective forward) is unthinkable. Yet it is happening all the time. The Richard Vobes Show is Richard Vobes’ business; it’s how he pays his bills and takes care of his loved ones.
Richard’s subscribers have risen sharply over the last few months. I wonder whether it’s this that caught the all-seeing eye of the algorithms, so the faceless censors had to come snooping. These ‘strikes’ come out of the blue, and you can’t defend yourself because you don’t know what you have done, like the protagonist in Kafka’s ‘The Trial’.
The extent of whimsical corporate control YouTube has over the living of living men is intolerable and must not be tolerated. How can we push back?
YouTube would not survive without these amazing content creators. Yet YouTube continues to bully, censor and punish doctors, educators, and entertainers like some crazy dictator tyrant. What it deems a violation and who it deems a violator is incomprehensible to ordinary folk; however, it should set alarm bells ringing. Many content creators exposing the truth of what is going on were forced off YouTube long ago.
The truth is that all our livelihoods will be threatened with a control grid being set in place, as I write. CBDCs, digital health certificates and 5G surveillance, all facilitated by internationally legally-binding agreements, are being approved by unelected officials in secret meetings in Geneva and elsewhere.
Censorship, and the capacity to control all information, are central to these manoeuvres aimed at centralising power over us in the hands of a small cabal of psychopaths. Please read the World Council for Health policy brief ‘Rejecting monopoly power of global public health’ for the whole picture. This control of what we say, do and think, which is so neatly demonstrated by YouTube, is really a nasty taste of things coming soon to a screen near you if we do not say a very firm ‘No’.
Richard Vobes facilitates nuanced and intelligent conversations at a time when the corporate, mainstream narrative is negative and polarising. We are constantly being asked to take sides and remain in a state of high alert. Richard’s show helps people to find space and courage to entertain ideas outside of the corporate-driven narrative without fear of being ridiculed.
Putting Richard on the ‘naughty chair’ is the controllers’ way of reminding us they consider us ‘hackable animals’ that shouldn’t think for ourselves.
Richard Vobes represents our very human ability to change our minds when presented with new information. He’s a deeply insightful free-thinker who allows his mind to wander the landscape of new ideas confidently and freely, setting an example for others to do the same.
Changing our minds and thinking for ourselves is the most powerful thing. Richard is helping us all develop sovereign minds by example – granting us space and permission with his platform of frank, open and fearless dialogue. As such, he’s a big threat to the entrenched power structure. However, the greatest threat that Richard Vobes poses is the fact that he is a human being in a world where true humanity, in all its beauty and wonder, is becoming increasingly rare.
Fresh from his 7-day ban, Richard is back now, although “on probation” by YouTube until July. His first delightful conversation since his censorship is with the UK TV presenter Neil Oliver.
Neil is MC of this year’s Better Way Conference, taking place in the historic English city of Bath between June 2-4. In his stimulating chat with Richard he talks about the positive, empowering, sovereign nature of the event, it’s focus on health and well-being, what delegates can expect and why events like these are so crucial in these challenging times. They also discuss Richard’s role at the Better Way Conference. He will be hosting the Fake Food panel and the Thought Control panel, where a range of speakers will give their views on subjects the mainstream media (and YouTube) ignores, rubbishes, censors or smears..
You can see their conversation here:
Richard will also be interviewed at the World Council For Health’s weekly General Assembly on Monday, May 1. He will be in conversation with our host, former BBC presenter Jemma Cooper, about his recent censorship, his journey to becoming a YouTube sensation, the subject matter he likes to discuss and also his life in general. It’s a chance to see the man who’s usually the interviewer being interviewed and see more of his honesty and humour free from the prying eyes of fact-checkers and censors. You can watch it at 7pm UK time here: Newsroom (worldcouncilforhealth.org)
Meanwhile, as the creeping censorship of mainstream channels continues, let’s support alternative platforms as much as possible. Let’s help make these platforms real, viable alternatives for valued content creators like Richard and so many others challenging prevailing narratives.
I’ll leave you with a quote from Richard lifted from one of his recent shows. He says:
“If there is the slightest chance that having a positive mental attitude – that being more embracing of life and seeing beauty and being happy and sharing positivity with friends and everyone we encounter – if there’s the slightest chance that this will push back against evil forces, then shouldn’t we at least give it a go? This would be my message.”
Thanks for reading.
Please extend a warm invitation to Richard to join Substack, where he is free to speak without repercussions and owns his content and mailing list. This is the parallel society that will knock out the censorious platforms.
We must throw away the crutches and walk away from beasts like YouTube. It thrives because people give it power by using it. Rip the band aids off. Just walk away from it wholesale. Say *no more*. And mean it.
