The true currency of this world is not money, it’s your attention
We’re taking a brief pause over the holidays. In the meantime, a couple of posts from the archive and my heartfelt thanks
For the first time since World Council for Health began, we are closing the office and taking a collective break over the holidays.
I’m going to do the same for this Substack, so the next post will be winging its way to you in the new year. If it’s holiday season for you as well, I wish you a peaceful, nourishing time for yourself and those you love. And if you can, consider turning your attention away from the news and the chatter online, even if just for a little while. Every day at the moment there’s a new revelation, a new horror story, a new decree from government about what we must or must not do. These will keep on coming, and social media is such that they can intrude into our lives at every moment of the day.
Our attention is powerful; it is the true gold of this world, which is why so much effort is made to capture it. So with this in mind, let’s ask ourselves, on what or who would we like to give our attention this holiday? A lover, a child, an elder, a friend or neighbour in need, an animal, a tree, the rise and fall of our breath, any or all of these things or more…? It’s a fun question to explore, and a fulfilling one.
With this in mind, I wanted to re-share two posts I wrote in the very early days of this Substack, about how to move from being a worrier to a warrior. These posts are essentially a list of the things I’ve found helpful to maintain a balanced life in the midst of so much chaos and disruption. These are the tools I use to stay positive no matter what, and they really work for me. Everyone will have their own toolkit but if you haven’t come across these posts before, maybe they can offer some helpful inspiration.

Finally, thank you so much for joining me on this Substack. I and the Substack team are so grateful for your contributions and are humbled over and over again by your wisdom, knowledge and heart. We’re all looking forward to continuing what feels like an ongoing conversation with the most wonderful group of friends, in 2023.
Warm wishes,
Tess
Thank you, Tess, for this beautiful reminder to take a breath, which I rarely if ever do. I hope you and your family enjoy a restorative and inspiring Christmas and come back ready to take on 2023 🙌
I don't want to divert you from your respite, Tess, but I thought you would want to know about the piece I just published sharing poignant words from Baby Alex's mother, Cornelia:
• “Baby Alex: The Definitive Account—in His Mother’s Own Words” (https://margaretannaalice.substack.com/p/baby-alex-the-definitive-accountin)
I found the strength she summoned to tell Alex's story in the hopes of saving others especially moving:
• "The time for silence is passed, and I will do everything in my power to ensure this doesn’t happen to anyone else."
• "Safe blood should never have to be sought and demanded—it should be a natural human right."
Let me know if you would like to interview Cornelia and Ron on Tess Talks, and I would be happy to connect you. Baby Alex's tragic hospicide highlights the risks posed to all by the tainted blood supply, and my hope is this will lead to calls to separate vaxxed from unvaxxed blood in the blood banks around the world.

Wishing you a Happy holiday season. And a big thank you for everything you are doing for all of us.🎄🎄☃️💖
